MEDIATION & FACILITATION
I mediate, facilitate, and help groups build consensus through conflict across many sectors. I focus particularly in situations where there are strong emotions, broken relationships, and a long history of tensions and mistrust. As the founder & former director of Harvard Law School's Negotiation & Mediation Clinical Program, I combine decades of practical experience with the latest scholarly research on best practices to my work.
Comprehensive Conflict Resolution
In collaboration with colleagues I worked with and taught during my years on the faculty of Harvard Law School and it's Program on Negotiation, I help individuals and groups better manage and resolve their most sticky conflicts. My expertise includes a wide range of contexts from family business succession planning, disagreements over intellectual property, and complex political, international, business, and commercial disputes.
Areas of focus
I have a particular interest in working in contexts where emotions run high, relationships matter deeply, and issues of personal and group identity are at play. My services address:
Complex family disputes around inheritance and succession
Business conflicts and workplace dynamics
Healthcare sector challenges

Building Community Consensus
I work with communities to bring stakeholders together around issues of public concern. This includes facilitating discussions about traffic patterns in growing town centers, the location and development of new public facilities, and school budget issues. My approach emphasizes collaborative problem-solving to help diverse groups find common ground.
How I Can Help
My comprehensive approach to mediation and facilitation provides multiple pathways to resolution:
One-on-one conflict resolution to address individual disputes
Team facilitation for strategic planning and innovation
Multi-stakeholder consensus building for community issues
Specialized mediation for sensitive family and organizational matters
